McLean Youth Soccer is grateful to all of our tremendous volunteers. The enthusiastic, tireless and generous contributions of our Recreation coaches is the keystone of the Recreation program. Hundreds of children benefit from the time that these coaches dedicate to their teams, and we are grateful to each and every one of them. McLean Youth Soccer received close to 200 nominations from recreation players and families supporting their favorite coaches! The recreation coach of the year should demonstrate excellent, age appropriate coaching skills, serve as a positive influence for his or her players, demonstrate knowledge of and a love of the game, and inspire her or his players to their best efforts. We are very excited to acknowledge the Recreation Coaches of the Year:
U6 - U11 Boys: James Cartwright
U6 - U11 Girls: Laura Mattis
U12 and up Boys: Bob Arnold
U12 and up Girls: Paul Cashin
Congratulations to all, and THANK YOU for all that you do to support our young athletes!

Spring Season Game Schedule
ALL - STAR INFO: Fairfax Police Youth Club All Star Tournament – June 20 & 21 (U8 and Older Teams Only). MYS will field teams in the age groups where we have volunteer coaches to hold tryouts and take the teams to the tournament. Players must be registered and playing on an MYS team to be eligible to try out.
MYS Recreation Players (U12 and older) all play on MYS teams that we register in the Suburban Friendship League (SFL) – a Recreation Travel League in Northern VA. No tryouts required. SFL Spring 2015 start date is not posted on their website yet. Their season ends with a tournament weekend; dates TBA. Please check their website: www.sflsoccer.org
The McLean Youth Soccer (MYS) Recreation program (or House League) focuses on individual player development and the enjoyment of the game of soccer – not on teams or winning games. We believe it is important for our players, parents and coaches to embrace this philosophy as it is an important foundation of MYS. Our small-sided, continuous play model that maximizes touches on the ball has been widely copied throughout the country.
The House program encompasses our recreational soccer programs for players ages 3 to 18, or the Under 4 (U4) to Under 19 (U19) divisions, and a TOPSoccer program.
