2008 Registration Fee Overview

The Fall 2008 MYS Travel fees cover the following areas:

  • MYS membership registration fee
  • MPS training fees (these fees are optional and must be selected during registration for players on non-MPS designated teams)
  • MYS Coaching Fees
  • League Fees
  • VYSA/Insurance Fees
  • County Fees

The following list of team expenses are not covered by the new registration system, and a team-specific collection and payment process should be managed directly by the designated team officials.

  • Uniforms and accessories
  • Tournament Entrance Fees
  • Tournament Travel Expenses for coaches (and players)
  • Winter Indoor League Fees
  • Patches/Pins
  • All other fees and expenses not explicitly covered by the current system (e.g team parties, coach gifts, etc.)

MYS Travel Coach Duties/Responsibilities Overview

Below is a general list of duties and responsibilities for MYS Travel Coaches.  For additional information please read the Coach & AGD Roles & Responsibilities document. 

  • Fall preseason Camp (MPS teams only)– Support MPS Summer Pre-Season camp (for MPS team coaches only) and provide an optional preseason camp to help prepare for the up coming season. This week should be directly after the week of MPS camp week.
  • Summer – Once per week skills training (minimum 8 sessions) at coach’s discretion (except for July) plus practices as required for USYSA championship series Regionals and Nationals
  • Seasons (Spring & Fall)-twice per week team training or as determined by coach
  • Winter- Once per week skills training (minimum 8 sessions) at coach’s discretion.  Ball Masters is optional.
  • Player Evaluations- They will be written or communicated verbally based on MPS/MYS Travel guidelines and twice per year. (November after fall season and June before tryouts).
  • Tryouts & Player Selection -at least two conducted. All calls made to accepting or declining players. (Tryouts must be approved by AGD).
  • Tournaments (not including travel-related expenses)

    •  U9-U11- Minimum of 2 Tournaments per season
    •  U12-U14 - 3 or 4 tournaments per season based on coach’s discretion
    •  U15-U18 - 3 or 4 tournaments per season based on coach’s discretion inclusive of a minimum of 2 college showcase tournaments
  • U15 – U18 Special Program Support
