Create Space on the Field:
- Move away from the team-mate with the ball.
- Try to move to a spot that is forward (toward the opponents goal).
- Move away from the opposing players.
- Call out to your team-mate for a pass.
- Always look for a new position to move to.
Receiving and Making Passes:
- Trap the ball by making light contact with the ball and your foot.
- Position your body between any attacker and your ball.
- Maintain control of the ball while you look for someone to pass to.
- Make a quick pass either to the feet of your team-mate or slightly
ahead of their position so they can run to the ball.
- Move to a new position so that you can receive a pass.
Throw Ins: (continue to practice this, you're all doing well!)
- Both feet must remain on the ground during the throw.
- The ball must be thrown over the head.
- Neither foot may cross the sideline.
Try to throw the ball to another team member.
Try to make the throw quickly.
- The other team will have less time to prepare.
- We'll have more time to try to score a goal.
Defending the Ball:
- Spread your arms out to make it harder for attackers to get your ball.
- Put your body between the attacker and the ball when possible.
- Don't let the ball get too far away from you.
