Welcome to the website of the McLean MPS Strikers, a soccer team for girls born on or after Aug. 1, 1993. The Strikers, who are coached by Clyde Watson and German Peri, play in WAGS Division 1. The Strikers are members of McLean Premier Soccer (MPS), which provides superior training and coaching for the strongest and most-committed soccer players in McLean Youth Soccer (MYS).

The Strikers have finished among the top three teams in WAGS Division 1 every season. In addition, the team is consistently ranked among the top teams in Virginia and Region 1 by Gotsoccer, Mathman, and National Soccer Ranking. Super-Y League North American Finals

This summer, the Strikers played for the U14 Washington Freedom Super-Y team. The Freedom finished first in their division, with a record of 13-1-0. The team will travel to Tampa for the North American Finals in November.

Tryouts

McLean Soccer Ranked #1 in VA

McLean Youth Soccer has been ranked as the #1 club in Virginia for both girls’ and boys’ travel soccer by Potomac Soccer Wire. The rankings are based on performance in the State Cup.

Clyde Watson to Coach Strikers

The Strikers are pleased to announce that Clyde Watson will now be coaching the team along with German Peri. Clyde's teams have won 11 State Cup titles, two Region 1 titles, and a 2007 National Championship (the McLean MPS Freedom). In recognition of his numerous accomplishments, Clyde was named the 2007 Girls' National Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. In addition to his coaching duties, Clyde serves as the MPS Technical Director.
