McLean, Virginia -- February 26, 2014 -- McLean Youth Soccer (MYS) today announced that Ken Krieger will join the club in the role of Boys Technical Director. Ken is a highly accomplished and respected youth soccer leader who comes to MYS after a successful decade as Technical Director of Coaching for Prince William Soccer, Inc. (PWSI) where he helped to lead the club to numerous state championships. In addition to his work at PSWI, Ken has lead youth programs at DC United, as the U14 Boys Development Coach, and with the Washington Freedom, as Technical Director of Youth Development. In his career, Ken has placed sixteen players on U.S. National youth teams including his daughter, Ali Krieger, a star of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. In recognition of his outstanding work, Ken was inducted to the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) Hall of Fame for Meritorious Service in 2010.
Ken will partner with Clyde Watson, MYS’ Girls Technical Director, to lead the overall technical direction of the club. Amongst other responsibilities, Ken will develop and implement the curriculum for training programs and team play from the recreational to the travel/elite boys programs, and he will be responsible for recruiting, managing and developing the professional soccer coaching staff for all boys programs.
