Over the weekend of the 21st & 22nd of March, the McLean Hotspurs Gold U14 Boys team, coached by Danny Roberts, overcame various Maryland based teams to triumph in the Freestate Capitol Cup.
The tournament was held in Stevensville, MD and was hosted by Freestate Soccer Alliance. Given the opposition, the boys performed admirably, conceeding just 1 goal the whole tournament.
Eventually the 'Hotspurs' won the final against a fine-spirited Thunder Fury (MD) team on penalties 4-2, after regulation time had ended 0-0.
The whole team performed with some excellent flair and passing movement in all of the games.
