MPS Power Undefeated in CASL Elite Flight
The MPS Power completed the 2008 CASL Shootout undefeated, with a 2-0-1 record. The Power competed against strong sides from Massachusetts (FC Stars, the #1 team from Massachusetts), North Carolina (CASL White, a 2007 North Carolina state cup semi-finalist) and Michigan Rush Nike (the #2 team from Michigan and Michigan's 2007 state cup semi-finalist). Running this gauntlet, the Power went 2-0-1, drawing even (2-2) with the Massachusetts FC Stars in the first match of the tournament. Both teams ended the group play undefeated, and the FC Stars advanced out of the group on a one-goal tie breaker. Thereafter, the FC Stars defeated the Herndon Elite and the #1 team in North Carolina, the Twin City Lady Twins, to claim the CASL Shootout championship.
The Power look forward to meeting up with the FC Stars and all the CASL tournament competitors in the future for another 70 minutes of fantastic soccer. Thanks for a fantastic weekend, CASL!
